The kits are suitable for 1 or 2 collector systems, which make them ideal for residential rooftop applications. All necessary components are included to simplify and streamline the installation process for the solar contractor. Kit components include: lag bolts, flashing and mounting clips to secure the collector to the roof. A rail is used for 2-collector roof mounting. The kit also includes special supply and return fittings which house the temperature sensor and air vent. The fittings eliminate the task of having to solder connections to the collectors. The new roof mount kits will be available summer 2011 from authorized Heliodyne distributors. COLLEGE POOL RECIEVES LEED GOLD CERTIFICATION SunWater Solar of Richmond, CA recently completed the design and installation of an 89 collector solar pool heating system for the College of Marin’s PE center and dive pool. The solar thermal system helped the building achieve LEED Gold Certification for its use of sustainable building practice. The system, which is one of the largest pool systems in California, is compromised of 89 Heliodyne GOBI 410 solar collectors generating equal to 3,573 square feet of surface area. The collectors are tied into a custom-built solar pump station designed by SunWater Solar. |
