NEW OG-300 SRCC CERTIFICATIONS FOR HELIODYNE TANKLESS BACKUP SYSTEMS The Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC) recently tested and approved several new residential Heliodyne SHW OG-300 systems. These systems are for use with on-demand instantaneous water heaters, and include open loop and closed loop designs using the Helio-Flo and Helio-Pak. For more information please visit the SRCC online ratings page. As with any SRCC certified SHW system, these automatically qualify for the federal tax credit and most state and local incentive programs. YEAR-END SALE Through the month of December, Heliodyne will be offering special pricing on many overstock and discontinued products. Inventory items on sale include certain models of GOBI collectors, residential water heaters, solar flex tube, and commercial scale heat exchangers. To obtain a full list, please contact your Heliodyne sales rep or local Heliodyne distributor. LOCAL TACO BELL RECEIVES FIRST CSI COMMERCIAL SOLAR THERMAL REBATE CHECK Albany, CA – A Bay Area Taco Bell franchise restaurant (owned and operated by PRB Management) was the first recipient of the California Solar Initiative Solar Thermal rebate program for commercial business. The CSI Thermal Program offers cash rebates of up to $500,000 for multifamily/commercial systems and up to $1,875 for single family homes. The fast food restaurant utilizes a Heliodyne solar hot water system to heat the business’s water for cooking, cleaning and the public restrooms. The closed loop system consists of 2 GOBI 410 collectors, a Helio-Pak Pro heat-transfer appliance and 80 gallon solar storage tank. An on-demand tankless water heater was used to provide auxiliary heating. The Helio-Pak houses an advanced differential controller, which allows for energy production data output and storage. Because the controller is web based, the installer or client can view system settings or energy data remotely with a laptop or any other internet-enabled device. Berkeley-based solar contractor, Sun Light & Power was hired to install the system. Earlier in the year, Sun Light & Power also provided the installation services for the first recipient of the CSI Solar Thermal Rebate Program for residential customers as well.
