NEW OG-300 SRCC CERTIFICATIONS FOR HELIODYNE SINGLE TANK AUX GAS SYSTEMS The Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC) recently tested and approved several new residential Heliodyne SHW OG-300 systems. These systems are for use with bottom-fired gas water heaters with electrical ignition, and include open loop and closed loop designs using the Helio-Flo and Helio-Pak. The latest SRCC certifications add to the list of space-saving and cost-efficient single tank system designs being promoted by Heliodyne. For more information please visit the SRCC online ratings page. As with any SRCC certified SHW system, these automatically qualify for the federal tax credit and most state and local incentive programs. WAKAFLEX ROOF FLASHING SOLUTION Heliodyne is proud to introduce a new roof flashing solution to the U.S. market. Wakaflex is a lead-free solution which can be used on all roof compositions and pitches. Wakaflex is malleable which makes it quite versatile in creating watertight seals with solar installations. The flashing comes in 33’ rolls which can be cut to size using a pair of household scissors, which eliminates the need for any special tools. Once cut, the material adheres to the roof with built-in adhesive strips. Wakaflex will be available through Heliodyne beginning March 2011. Contact your local Heliodyne sales rep for more information. DISTRIBUTOR LOCATOR NOW AVAILBLE Heliodyne has now made available a Distributor Locator. The search tool will assist solar contractors in locating nearby authorized Heliodyne distributors. Homeowners and business owners who are looking to install solar hot water can also contact any of the listed distributors in case no installer exists in their area. NEW LIVE CASE STUDIES New live case studies have been added to the Heliodyne website. The newest one posted is courtesy of New York-based solar installation and design company, Quixotic Systems. The commercial SHW system is located in the Bronx, and utilizes 20 GOBI 410 collectors and provides domestic hot water to the apartment building's tenants. See example below: Heliodyne is the only manufacturer in North America that makes case studies available with real-time performance monitoring. This is courtesy of the Heliodyne Delta-T Pro controller which regulates and monitors the system while providing a live energy data feed via the internet.
