LIVE CASE STUDIES Dinwiddie, Virginia Commercial solar thermal contractor, Soltherm http://www.soltherm.com/ recently completed installation of a 32 collector Heliodyne system on a health and rehab center. The system will provide solar heated water for the 30 bedrooms as well as the cafeteria. The newly introduced HCOM commercial-scale heat-transfer appliance was utilized on the project which significantly reduced design work and installation time at the job site. FULL SUITE OF SPEC DOCS NOW ONLINE Life's gotten a little easier for engineers designing solar thermal systems. Heliodyne has now made available CAD drawings, spec documents and other product data on the website http://www.arcat.com/arcatcos/cos33/arc33022.html. Accessing product information through ARCAT will ease the often time-consuming spec writing process. The Heliodyne in-house engineering team is still on hand to assist with any design questions engineers or installers may have as well. FIRST CA SOLAR THERMAL REBATE CHECK ROLLS OUT Carlos Nascimento and Cecilia Collados are the first home-owners to receive a rebate check from the newly enacted CA solar thermal rebate program. Berkeley based Sun Light & Power http://www.sunlightandpower.com/ were contracted by the homeowners to install a Heliodyne Cool Climate system http://www.heliodyne.com/products_systems/packaged/swh_cool.html with an upgraded controller for web monitoring. The new rebate program offers up to $1850 for residential solar thermal systems and up to $500,000 for commercial systems. A new, short video has been released in order to demonstrate the process involved in the installation of a commercial sized solar thermal system. So many business decision makers out there don't understand how simple a solar thermal installation can be. Some aren't even aware that the technology exists and how it can benefit their business.
