Ole Pilgaard has served as President of Heliodyne since 2007. Previously he was head of the solar energy division for VELUX, a global brand in the building materials and home improvment industry. He was responsible for developing the firm’s global solar strategy. Ole was past President of the European Solar Industry Federation, Director of the European Renewable Energy Council, and the host, Chairman and speaker for the European Solar Thermal Energy Conference (ESTEC). Mr. Pilgaard served as a guest speaker at several events within the Renewables industry, including the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), Solar World Congress, European Conference for Renewable Energy (Intelligent Policy Options), International Conference for Renewable Energies, and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. Ole currently sits on the Solar Rating & Certification Corporation (SRCC) board and has spoken at several DOE Solar Hot Water workshops. He holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Engineering College of Copenhagen, and in International Economics and Trade from Copenhagen Business School. He currently resides in San Rafael, California, with his wife and two children.
